Case Study

Supporting amateur “social chairs” to safely bring their bubbles back together.

At the tail end of COVID, there was a desperate desire to get out again. This project’s aim was to create a simple event planner that highlighted unbooked private spaces and other local businesses to plan private events for friends to get together and have fun while being safe.

Other Key Features

Venue and other “bookables” gallery.

They key to supporting local businesses was presenting their offering in a centralized gallery so that users can get inspired, book directly though the app, and businesses can increase their visibility.

Shopping cart-style event building.

We wanted to make event planning more familiar and accessible to the amateur event planner or friend group social chair. To do this we borrowed from online shopping or UberEats style workflows to add stuff to your event and get it booked just like that.

“Pitching in” and invite management.

One of the big challenges of bringing your friends together for more than just a hangout is footing the bill and getting commitments. With interactive evites and budgeting tools, you can get friends to chip in ahead of time to cover reservations fees and democratize the planning tasks.
